Big Spot Review: Get Paid for Your Opinions

Today in my Big Spot Review I am taking a look at what Big Spot has to offer its members who sign up hoping to create a small side income from the site.

This is only a small earning opportunity. You will not be able to create a full time income stream from this. If you want to do something that can lead to a full time income then I recommend that you use this platform instead. It is my number 1 recommended way to make money online.

What is BigSpot?

BigSpot is one of the many survey sites online that promises to pay you for sharing your opinions about various topics. It is a legitimate survey platform owned by VarsityPlaza L L C.

However, unlike a lot of other sites that host their own survey panels, BigSpot does not administer its own surveys. It only links you to other survey panels and market research companies, where you can find interesting surveys.

So it isn’t BigSpot that actually pays you, they are like a middleman that refers you to sites that offer surveys.

It has been in existence since 2008 and sustains itself throughout the years by referring members to other survey sites.

Interestingly, Big Spot is among the few survey companies to have ever advertised on T V. They no longer advertise on mainstream media and are not as popular, but their marketing exploits back in the day brought them to the spotlight.

How does BigSpot Work?

Registration on Big Spot is free. All you have to do is provide your email address, date of birth, gender, country, and ethnicity.

Unfortunately, membership is limited to residents of Australia, USA, Canada, the UK and Puerto Rico. Additionally, you must provide a valid e-mail address to be eligible for payments.

BigSpot will match you with market research companies from your country as soon as you finish the registration process.

The only shortcoming at this point is that you have to register again with all the survey sites that you will find on your dashboard. Common survey panels that you may encounter on your dashboard include Global Test Market, Opinion Outpost, and Toluna.

These survey panels will invite you to complete various surveys that match your demographics. However, you must answer several pre – qualification questions before you can qualify to take these surveys.

On the surface, BigSpot looks like any other survey platform. However, it is not more than a referral program. The company earns money by referring new members to other survey companies.

How Much Can I Earn on BigSpot?

BigSpot has a very low income potential. In fact, this website does not have a long list of survey opportunities, so you may find yourself with few surveys available from the panels listed.

Different survey panels pay different commissions. Payment rates range between  $0.50 and $5.00 per survey. However, high paying surveys are rare to come by.

The money you earn on BigSpot will only be pocket money to supplement your main income, so you should definitely not see this platform as becoming your main revenue stream.

Pros
• It is free and easy to join
• It is a legitimate survey platform
• Access to a variety of survey panels

Cons
• Restricted membership
• Low earning potential
• Vague information on home page
• Tedious Pre – qualification surveys
• You have to sign up with each and every survey panel separately

What others are saying about Big Spot

I have been taking a look around the internet to see what others are saying about BigSpot. I can’t of course say with any certainty that what is being said is true. The views I came across included

  • A number of users claim that the platform share your personal information with third – party websites. If this is true then of course this may put your privacy at risk.
  • Other users claim you get lots of spam emails as a result of signing up to this platform.
  • Not qualifying for many surveys (a common complaint made against survey companies)

If you have any doubts about any reward site, and what they may or may not being doing with your data, then I recommend you read the privacy policy on the platform you are considering using. You can read BigSpots privacy policy here. It is Then of course up to you to decide whether you use the site or not.

Final Thoughts

BigSpot is certainly not a scam, however it doesn’t appear to be the most popular survey platform around, although some users have reported being happy with the site.

Some may not be happy signing up to a site that just refers you to other survey sites, again it is down to personal preference. You could say you are getting more choice of surveys by having a number of survey sites available, but are you getting paid as much for a survey as you would if you had taken the survey directly on the survey site platform?

Let me know what your experience of BigSpot is. Did you get paid well for the surveys you have taken? Did you get lots of spam emails? If you want to share your experience of this site then please leave a comment below.
