How Do You Sell Personalised Gifts With Zazzle?

Zazzle Review

Thanks for checking out my review of the print on demand platform Zazzle

In my review today I will be taking a detailed look at how this platform works, how you sell your items, and whether you really can make money designing and personalising your own range of products.

What Is Zazzle?

Zazzle is a Print On Demand company based in Redwood City, California. The platform was founded in 2005 by the Beaver brothers; Robert Beaver, Bobby Beaver, and Jeff Beaver with an aim of linking creative designers with organizations or individuals seeking logos, captions or creative images for their business or personal use.

Since its inception, Zazzle has established a strong client base, making it an ideal freelance site for many freelancers.

How Zazzle Works

The signup process is free, super fast and easy. You may decide sign in by simply providing an email address and a password. Alternatively, you may join using your facebook or google account.

How Do You Sell Your Items On Zazzle?

You do not need to be an expert designer to earn on this platform. As long as you can take quality photographs and have experience in cropping and adding captions, you are good to go!

Zazzle allows you to express your creativity on thousands of items listed on their site. You are required to customize these items by adding a unique image or caption. It could be your favorite sports team’s name, your name or a personalized gift caption.

To make the process simpler, the company has partnered with popular brands like Hallmark, and Disney to help in bringing a vast number of images to assist in the design, and decoration processes.

Alternatively you can also randomly pick any product then customize it using your creations, designs, and photos from scratch. On the sale of these items, you can set your royalty fees depending on your models.

Making Money On Zazzle As An Affiliate Marketer.

This is arguably one of the most straightforward ways you can earn passive income on Zazzle. You only need to create an affiliate account, find products that fascinate you, and promote them.

If you are an influencer with a massive social media following, the odds are in your favor. You have all it takes to be a top earner by promoting on-demand products to your followers.

You can also earn by Promoting Zazzle on your blogs. Simply, head over to Zazzle, pick your best image, attach your unique affiliate link on it.

When your web visitor or email subscriber click on the image and makes a purchase, you earn up to a whopping 15% in commissions from such sale.

Getting Paid By Zazzle

The minimum payout threshold is $50.

What Is Good is that the platform allows you to set your own royalty rates, meaning that the amount earned simply depends on your competitiveness.

The minimum commission from royalties is usually 5%, but cannot exceed 99%.

What I Like About Zazzle

– Incredible customer support: The support team is always standby to assist in case of any issue
– You can set your royalty amounts to ensure competitive rates.
– No special skills required
– Customers have the opportunity to view creative works from thousands of designers
– Excellent referral program
– Clients can track their orders
– Very fair return policy. When you purchase an item from Zazzle, and you find some defects on the item, you have a whole month to return the item, request a refund or choose a replacement.

What I Don’t Like About Zazzle

– Refunds may take 21 days to be completed
– It’s a very competitive site: The platform has thousands of freelancers uploading work on a regular basis. You, therefore, need a lot of creativity for your project to be noticed by prospective clients.

Some Final Thoughts On Zazzle

There is no question you can make money on Zazzle, and plenty of freelancers are doing just that. To get started you just need to upload your creative work on to the products and wait for a customer.

Once a prospective client likes your project, the platform then initiates the transaction process and handles all the technicalities involved, including the delivery process. You will then be sent a commission for the successful sale.

The good thing is that you will still retain the ownership rights after making sales. This means you can resale the same piece of creativity to multiple clients on the platform.

The trick is to be as unique as possible, to attract more clients. There is a lot of competition, but there is no reason why you can’t succeed with your original and interesting designs.

Not only that, you can also earn a considerable income on the platform by simple marketing the site and its products to clients and designs through affiliate marketing.

Star Rating 3.5/5- A legit platform that allows you to showcase your original designs on products for sale. Competition is high so some dedication and work will be needed to ensure success.

3.5 Star Rating

  1. I think I was an affiliate with Zazzle years ago but I never did anything with it. I just went and checked it out and they actually have a lot of products within my niche. This is nice to know. I don’t know if I want to take pictures and create personalized gifts, but I can promote other peoples items, right? If someone buys something through my link, I can earn an affiliate commission? Thanks for the reminder about Zazzle.

    1. Hi Wendy,
Yes there are opportunities for affiliates to make money on this platform. You can choose any product you wish and promote it on your website or blog etc and receive 15% commission. It could work well if you can find products that will appeal to your niche audience.

  2. I really like the idea of this as I know some people who would like to give this a go and showcase their talent. The fact that you can also make money as an affiliate marketer is an added bonus and the commission rate is quite high compared to other affiliate companies.

  6. I heard of and completely forgot about Zazzle. I’m defintely heading over there now to see if it’s a good fit for me and a potential affiliate niche. This is the first review I’ve come across regarding Zazzle, but despite its competitiveness, might be a decent fit. Thanks for the review.

    1. Hi Todd,
I would say that Zazzle is definitely worth a try. It’s free to set up a shop so see how you go. They also make it easy for affiliates too with direct linking to specific product ranges or products. Good luck.

  7. I read your review because I was interested in your take on Zazzle. I am familiar with the company and was thinking of submitting some artwork to them. They produce so many artists’ pieces that there are, indeed, many products produced, and therefore much competition. However, the very fact that so many artists use Zazzle speaks well for the company. If they weren’t a good company, I don’t think they would be popular with so many people.

Thanks for filling us in more on Zazzle. I think it is a good company

    1. Hi Fran,
I agree that there is lots of competition on Zazzle as there are with other similar platforms. Success is never automatic of course, but if you are artistic and want to put your skills to good use then I think Zazzle is worth a try.
      Thanks for your comment.

  8. I think Zazzle is a good way to make money online with your creativity.
For me I think I would be interested in their affiliate program as I am not too creative myself. Have you made money with Zazzle yourself?

    1. Hi Kathy,
After writing this review of Zazzle I zoned up as an affiliate as they have some great products on their platform. I am also going to give it a try as a seller too. Thanks for your comment.
