Thanks for checking out my review of Adobe Stock.
My review is for photographers, videographers and designers who want to make money by selling their content.
Nature, architecture, and street life photos and videos are all popular topics and Adobe Stock makes it easy to sell media in many other niches, such as sports, education and business.
Once you get started on the platform it is important to always choose the right category for your images and describe each one accurately, so that potential clients can quickly find your work.
How Do You Make Money With Adobe Stock?
If you like to make films or take photographs and plan to sell your work, it is important to identify a profitable niche.
Ideally, this should match the interests that you already have. People search the site for content for advertisements, YouTube videos, magazine articles, brochures and even slides for their presentations.
Your vector design work should be clear, so they will enhance your client’s work when they are included in a wide range of media applications.
Buildings and architecture is a popular category, which includes videos of homes, office, temples, barns and shelters.
Business includes images of money, financial investment concepts, and people at work in various business settings. Another popular category is hobbies and leisure which includes things like knitting, skydiving, and model trains.
While you are making a video, think of your potential client’s needs. This way, you are more likely to take a picture that will match exactly what they have in mind.
You will make more money in your chosen category if your content can be used by people with many different needs.
For example, the category animals includes animals in the wild, but you may be more likely to sell a nice picture of a domestic cat in a neutral setting, than one of a cheetah.
You can earn more by focusing your work on videos and images that people really need.
You can alter your vector designs, videos and photos by using the apps that Adobe has available. These include Illustrator, Photoshop and other editing apps. Adobe Stock is integrated into the Creative Cloud platform.
You can add your videos and vector design images to Adobe stock from Lightroom CC, Bridge and using the web.
The platform uses intelligent automatic tagging, which saves you a lot of time when you are uploading a lot of photos.
Easy Sales Tracking
Photographers want to focus on being creative, not on accounting. The platform helps you track your sales on your dashboard in real time, so you can be sure that you are getting royalties for your illustrations.
How much can you earn selling photos to Adobe Stock?
It can be quite easy to earn money with your images on Adobe Stock if you can take good photos. Once you have full rights for your films, drawings or photos and are at least 18 years old, you can upload them to earn money.
You get a 33% commission every time someone purchases one of your pictures or vector art and a 35% commission whenever they buy videos from you.
You decide on the price for an image. Adobe has many different purchase plans and the customers who use your video and images may decide to purchase your work through a subscription plan.
In most cases, this gives you the least earnings for your hard work. Many amateur photographers do not make a lot off each photo when it is purchased via subscription plan, and sometimes you earn less than a dollar per sale.
A direct sale would earn more, since a photo priced at $60 for full rights would give you a commission of $20. Selling 4 of those a month would give you earnings of $80, as an amateur photographer.
What Are The Pros?
- Adobe Stock makes it easy for almost anyone to earn money from their creative work. Whether you like to create illustrations for baseball games, make dance films or take photos of birds, you can find a market for your work.
- They offer different plans to their customers and some of those plans allow you to earn well from your images.
What Are The Cons?
- You may also not sell more than 3 or 4 photos a month if you do not have photos in certain categories. Some categories are more in demand, so you will earn more from these than from others.
Is Adobe Stock Worth It?
Adobe Stock is a good platform to earn from with your photos and videos. Looking around the site helps you to get a feel for what people are buying, so you can gear your work towards that.
Marketing yourself as a creative person also helps, and you can use the platform to find a client base and share your portfolio with clients everywhere.
If you’re a photographer looking to sell your best photos then Adobe Stock could be worth a try.
