How Much Can You Earn With Slicethepie? A Review

Slicethepie Review

Thanks for checking out my Slicethepie review. Today I’m gonna check out the Slicethepie  platform and see if it’s for real.

This is a website where you can rate and review songs and get paid for it.

Sounds pretty sweet, right?

So, in this review I’m gonna give it a go for an hour and see how much cash I can rack up.

But before we get into that, let’s get to know Slicethepie a bit better.

What Is Slicethepie?

Slicethepie Review

Slicethepie is a site that is known mostly for paying you (the reviewer)  for listening to and then reviewing songs.

The site claims that it has to date accepted over 10 million reviews, and paid out more than $1 million to its reviewers.

The website is extremely easy to navigate and you can get right in to writing song reviews once you have provided some basic info about yourself.

You can occasionally also write reviews of fashion items. There is sometimes a ‘lucky dip’ where you could be reviewing a number of different products.

My test run today however will be focused on writing song reviews only.

Write reviews at Slicethepie
There are various reviews you can do at Slicethepie including song and audio branding.

You are also given an opportunity to participate occasionally in surveys, although you can opt out of this option if you choose. Writing music reviews however is the most predominant activity on this site.

Slicethepie provides a platform for budding musicians to receive feedback about their audio tracks. Artists upload their music at Soundout.com so their songs can be reviewed at Slicethepie.

From this feedback, artists are able to find opportunities for radio placement, airplay and other related opportunities, depending on the quality of their work.

Who can join Slicethepie?

Slicethepie is primarily for residents of English speaking countries such as the U.S, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. and also Germany. You have to be 13 years to become a reviewer on this platform.

How Do You Register At Slicethepie?

The registration process is straightforward. It requires your name, email address, gender, and date of birth.

You also need to create a password to secure your account. You will get access to all review categories once you complete the registration process.

You are also asked to give some of your musical preferences. So whether you’re into R&B /Soul, Indie, Rock or Country, just tick the relevant boxes to ensure you get to review more of the songs that you love.

How Does Slicethepie Work?

Reviewing music at Slicethepie is straightforward. It involves listening to music tracks, writing  a short review and ticking a few boxes about what you thought about the track.

You must listen to the track for at least 90 seconds before writing your review. The appraisal process focuses on aspects such as vocals, lyrics, instrumentals, production, and rhythm.

Don’t worry about being over technical or trying to sound like a professional. The artists want honest feedback from real and enthusiastic listeners of music.

Slicethepie will reveal the name of the track and artist at the end of the review on some of the reviews you do. Others will be anonymous.  Apparently each track has to have over 30 separate appraisals to establish the final artist rating.

How Much Can You Earn With Slicethepie?

The amount of earnings per review will be influenced by the star rating you get as a reviewer.

I’m no professional song reviewer by any means. When I’m active on the site I write what I honestly what I think about the song and include an opinion about the introduction, the melody, the lyrics and whether the tune was catchy.

I try to make the reviews as thorough as possible, and for this Slicethepie has rated my reviewing ability at 2 stars.

So, if you achieve the same star rating then you are likely to earn similar to what I managed to achieve below. A higher rating should allow you to earn a bit more.

How Much Did I Earn In 1 Hour?

Writing song reviews are fun, but doing them for a full hour without a break can be hard going. So to do this test I had a couple of breaks. To ensure the test was as accurate as possible I used a stop watch to measure the actual time I spent writing the reviews.

During the 1 hour period I reviewed the following;

2 songs that paid 12 cents each

2 songs that paid 7 cents each

5 songs that paid 6 cents each

3 songs that paid 2 cents each

The total earned for 1 hour of writing song reviews was $0.74.

So, not a great return if you are looking for a way to earn a meaningful amount of money online.

Slicethepie also has a referral program that pays you 20% of all your referrals earnings for the first 60 days, and then 10% after the 60 days are up.

Is Slicethepie A Good Way To Make Money Online?

As a side gig Slicethepie isn’t a great way to earn money online.

However, it is completely free to join, and it also fun to write a few reviews when you have some spare time. A downside is that you need to reside in either The U.S, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Germany to benefit from Slicethepie.

Working on Slicethepie has a clear advantage over taking online surveys because you can predict how much you are likely to earn. However, you can potentially earn more on survey sites.

Nonetheless you can at least roughly calculate how much you get paid for each review, and because you don’t get disqualified like you do with surveys, you will get paid for every minute you spend reviewing songs or products.

Just ensure you’re not writing generic reviews, and comply with the terms and conditions of the site (e.g no VPN) and you can generate a few extra dollars a month.

How Do You Get Paid At Slicethepie?

Slicethepie pays via PayPal only. You need to register a valid PayPal address to receive your payments.

The minimum withdrawal limit on this site is $10. Payments are weekly on Tuesdays and Friday, and may take up to 5 days to reflect on your PayPal account.

Slicethepie is a U.K site, however it pays in $ rather than in £

Slicethepie have a good support team. They respond to any issues or concerns you have either via their website help button or via email at info@slicethepie.com.

Is Slicethepie Legit?

Yes, Slicethepie does pay its members for writing reviews. It is a genuine opportunity to earn a small side income online doing something you will enjoy, especially if you love listening to music.

However, even though Slicethepie is legit, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the right opportunity for you. As with all reward sites it does have it’s advantages and disadvantages

What Is Good About Slicethepie?

  •  It is a legitimate platform
  • It is free to join
  • Multiple earning opportunities such as writing, fashion reviews and commercial reviews
  • Weekly payments via PayPal
  • It has an excellent support team
  • Fun way of earning money
  • Refer-a-friend program

What Isn’t So Good About Slicethepie?

  • Low earnings
  • No alternative payment options than PayPal
  • Not available in many Countries

Is Slicethepie Worth It?

Slicethepie is certainly a genuine platform for reviewing tracks. If you love music then you will probably find the site to be rewarding aside from the monetary incentives.

The rewards however are currently too low to recommend the site as a good way to earn money online. However, if you are particularly good at writing professional song reviews your earning potential could be higher than mine.

The minimum withdrawal requirement of $10 however is achievable within a relatively short period of time ( even for novices like me) if you continue to write reviews.

Joining Slicethepie could be fun and interesting way for you to earn a little extra cash on the side.

Star Rating 2/5- This is a fun platform for music fans, and if you are very good at reviewing music tracks then you could earn more.

  1. Heey, this seems to be a good platform to earn some extra cash. I didn’t know that you could earn money reviewing music. And I have heard about Slicethepie before and now reading your review I perceive it’s a genuine site. It doesn’t offer riches buy it fulfills its promises.

The threshold is low and PayPal suits me! I’ll try it!

    1. Hi Ann,

Yes it’s a legit site that pays. You have to be realistic about the earning potential however, but it’s fun and easy nonetheless. Best of luck, I hope you enjoy your experience with Slicethepie.

  2. Thanks for your time in putting this out of here, it is very important for us to understand the meaning of get rich quick and also online business earning, in online businesses there’s nothing like get rich quick, you need to tool to make a living, that is why we need to get up and read about products.

  3. This is the first time that I am learning about his platform as I didn’t know about it before but I think it is really good that you can out something like this together today to tell me about it. I think that it would be nice for me to give it a try and see how it would work for me. Thank you so much for all this.

  4. Hi, great review! I am super interested to join and I clicked on the link but it reports it’s forbidden?
Could you please check that? How’s it going for you now? Did you increase your earning potential by giving it more time per day? What would be some realistic calculation if you would spend 3 hours a day reviewing the music?

    Thanks,
    Sunny

    1. Hi Sunny,

I will check that link for you, thanks for mentioning it.

I am quite an average music reviewer so my star rating has remained at 2 stars.

    2. You should be residing in US,UK, Canada and other english speaking countries before you can enter to their website. But you can download VPN extention and select the English speaking country that you want in order to access. But I’m not sure if they will ban you by doing so. I am actually from an Asian country and used VPN extention to access to thir website, and in my 2 days of rating music, I’ve already earned $10.

  5. In my experience slice the pie is a legit site, they really pay with the minimum cash being $10. I have cashed out a few times now. However there are only two issues I don’t like about slicethepie.
First, the items to review tend to run out and limit your potential to make a good sum of money so the best one can do if they give it time is $100 in a month which is not very easy by the way.
Secondly, your account is very likely to be locked for whatever reason. You really have to be careful with this site for they are quick at locking accounts with any suspicious activity like using a proxy, copy reviews from the web, and what is more funny is that at times your account will get locked accidently and they say internal error however it should be reopened when that happens.
So finally I think slice the pie is a good side husle if you know how to write good reviews and raise your star rating. You could easily made over $100 in a month

    1. Hi Abel,
Thanks for sharing your experience of Slicethepie. I appreciate what you are saying about there being a limited amount of reviews. However, I think if Slicethepie provides reviewers with enough reviews to earn at least $100 a month then this does, like you say, make it a good side hustle. It’s also understandable that the site needs to ensure reviewers aren’t using a proxy, and that the reviews are original. As for technical issues, the site support has so far been very responsive and helpful, so if I encounter any technical issues I’m confident they will get resolved. Thanks again for your comment, it is really appreciated.

    2. I think that you had a small typo or spellcheck correction lol
It’s Slicethepie not Slice the pie 🙂 Even though this actually sounds like a good domain name sliceapie.com hah
      Cheers!
      Sunny
