The MSR App connects consumers with market research teams that require their feedback.
When you install the app on your mobile device, you’ll be able to do surveys from any location.
The data that you provide is kept confidential and is analyzed quantitatively. That is, it’s considered as a group along with data submitted by other participants in the same survey.
So, this helps to protect your privacy. The app also has a privacy policy that you should read through before registering.
Is The MSR App Legit?
Yes, The MSR App is a legit survey app, it is a product of Measure Protocol. This is a British company which is based on Chandos Street in London. Members report having received their rewards in exchange for providing their opinions via the online surveys provided by the app.
It’s available for free on Google Play and in the App Store. Since you can use it on mobile, you can earn on the go.
This app can be used to earn right across the United States. If you’re living in the United Kingdom, you can also use it. Canadians can complete the tasks and get paid with the type of gift cards that are available in Canada.
However, the app is not currently available in any other countries.
How You Can Earn from the MSR App
You can earn on this app by doing surveys and other data tasks. So, you’ll be asked to do tasks that can’t be done through Artificial Intelligence.
For example, you could be asked to take a photo of an item and upload it. You would earn points for doing that and these would be added to your balance automatically.
Similarly, you can also be asked to share information on your experiences with a store. For example, you could be asked about your Amazon purchase history. This information would be kept confidential.
If you’ve recently traveled, you could even be asked to review your travel destination. The number of credits that you would receive for each of these tasks would be different.
Before doing any of them, you would know exactly what you were required to do in order to earn the credits.
Most of your earnings however might come from the surveys that are available on the app. But in order to be invited to do any of these surveys you’ll have to provide information on yourself.
This information will put you in a particular demographic.
Signing Up To The MSR App
Its not unusual to have to provide verification and complete a profile survey When joining a survey platform, and The MSR App is no different.
To earn your first ‘MSR’ you will need to validate your email, your phone, complete a basic profile survey, then validate your location. If you are happy to do this then you will be rewarded with 20 MSR, which in the U.K, which is where I am based, it is worth 16p.
The app requires profiling information because without it, it will be difficult for you to be matched to any service.
Once you have been rewarded for the basic survey you have completed however, the app wants you to do further profiling surveys about specific things. This is good in one way in that you will probably achieve more surveys that are better targeted to you.
However, the app doesn’t reward you further for providing this extra data.
As you can see from the screenshot below. The basic survey that I completed only gave the app 7% of the data they want to collect.
This could be too intrusive for some, however by completing all the profiling data you will improve your earning potential with the app. However, it’s a pity they don’t offer further incentives to complete your profile in full.
The MSR App also partners with third-party sites to offer you surveys. So, the surveys that you’ll do are actually coming from market research plans that they directly have.
Their partners must approve each survey that you do before you receive your points. Usually, this process is so smooth that you don’t notice any delays. However, there are complaints from some users that there is a provider that isn’t always speedy with paying over their rewards.
As you can see above, the app currently has 3 survey partners, although more may be featured soon.
The MSR App referral program
This app has a referral program. So, whenever you refer a friend to the MSR app and they use your referral code, the install it, and complete their profile, you’ll then earn 20% of everything they earn.
How Much Can you Earn from the MSR App?
As stated above, you are likely to earn more if you complete your profile questions.
The amounts I’m stating here are based on the experiences of users of the app and what they are reporting.
Tasks on the MSR App vary in length but you’ll earn at least $0.50 for any task that you select. For example, if you refer four people a month, you would earn $2 per month just from that.
On average, tasks take about five minutes. The longest take 15 minutes. For a single task in a category that pays well, you could earn $10. So, if you were able to do two of those per month, you would earn $20.
This app is still very new. As such, it doesn’t always have a lot of tasks available. That will limit your earning potential and you might find that you’re unable to earn more than $20 per month.
How You Cash Out With The MSR App?
To get your rewards, you’ll need to click the Redeem Balance button in the app wallet.
As you can see from above, the minimum amount you need to cash out is £10. After clicking on the balance that you want, an email will be sent to you. In the email you’ll have a link that you can click on in order to choose the type of reward that you want.
So there’s a step built in that acts as a verification stage to ensure that you’re actually the person who is requesting the payout. You’ll be able to exchange your points for gift cards, store credit and gift vouchers.
Your points will be exchanged automatically when you request a gift card. This will be done at the rate of approx 100 MSR points for $1. So, you’ll need at least 1,000 MSR points to cash out.
What Other Users Are Saying About the MSR App?
The MSR App has been downloaded over 50,000 times. It has a rating of 4.3 from over 3,000 reviews on Google Play.
Most users have had a positive experience on the platform. They’ve received their payments on time.
Unfortunately, some members have had bad experiences while doing surveys.
For example, some panelists have actually finished surveys and were then told that the surveys had already reached their quota. This tends to happen with a particular third-party survey provider.
That’s unusual for a survey site. Usually, before completing any of the questions, prospective participants would be told that the surveys are already full. In that case, they wouldn’t be allowed to proceed further.
Users experience these and other technical issues with the app. Sometimes these occur from the beginning. For example, some users are unable to complete their profile.
Even after contacting customer service and being told that this technical issue would be addressed, they couldn’t enter their data so they can’t progress further with the app.
