Should You Try Hiving Surveys? Review

Hiving Surveys Review

I signed up to Hiving Surveys just to see if you guys should try it.

Taking online surveys is a convenient way to earn a few dollars in the comfort of your own home. However, you’re not employed by survey companies, so you could be working for less than minimum wage.

If you are ok with that then you may want to consider signing up to a few sites to maximise your earnings.

So, how does Hiving Surveys match up to the rest? …..Let’s find out

What Is Hiving Surveys?

Hiving Surveys is a consumer panelling service, which means that by completing surveys it’s members (who can sign up for free) can earn a bit of cash. Hiving currently offer surveys to people resident in 20 countries, and the company is based in Paris, France.

So, if you want to become their latest member then you will need to sign up.

Here is what I discovered when I joined.

Signing Up

After signing up with my email account, I was asked to complete a profile survey to enable Hiving to get an idea of my demographic.

There were just 15 simple personal questions to answer, and for this I earned 300 points.

300 points unfortunately isn’t a lot. You have to accumulate 4000 points before you can cash out.

4000 points = $4

A redemption amount however, at $4 isn’t bad compared to other survey sites that are much higher.

On The cashing out page however I noticed that Hiving were experiencing delays processing PayPal payments, and it could be a few weeks before you get your money.

Earning Money With Hiving Surveys

When you complete a survey you will be rewarded with more points.

When there is a survey for you it will be sent via email so you can look out for it there, or you can check on your account page to see if there is one in there waiting.

You won’t actually get your points straight away after you have filled in your survey, The points will only be credited once all the surveys in a project have been completed, so this could take a few weeks.

Micro Tasks

Another way to earn at Hiving is by carrying out Micro tasks. Hiving have added this feature to diversify the way members can earn points.

The tasks are engaging and could be for example translation, or maybe offering an opinion on an advert, or moderating an image.

The number of points you can get for each task will be displayed.

The more micro jobs you do, the more you are likely to be offered.

Tell A Friend Programme

Hiving has a ‘tell a friend programme’ to help boost your points. Put your friend’s email address onto the tell a friend page and send them an invite.

You can invite as many friends as you like, and you get points for each survey that your invited member completes.

Hiving Affiliate Programme

Hiving operates an affiliate programme designed for anyone who has a big social media presence, blog or website.

This is a better way to earn from surveys companies. You can learn how to do affiliate marketing HERE

When you join their affiliate programme you get an affiliate link, and you can oversee your recruited panelists on your own personal affiliate dashboard like the one below.

What Are Others Saying About Hiving Surveys?

Most of the reviews from around the web, from actual users of the site, weren’t very positive. The biggest criticism I found was that it took an awful long time to get enough points to cash out.

This in part appears to be down in part to their being few surveys, and also due to a high disqualification rate.

Being disqualified from surveys however is what members of survey sites have to accept, regardless of which survey site they join, with only the odd exception.

Pros

  • Free to join survey panel
  • Low redemption amount
  • Payments via PayPal

Cons

  • Surveys are few and far between
  • Low earning potential
  • Poor customer reviews

Final Thoughts

Earning with survey sites is slow enough, but when you don’t get many made available it is obviously going to be even slower. That’s why I recommend you join a number of survey sites to ensure you have a survey available As and when you want to complete one.

I believe that if you have the patience and stamina to complete surveys then you have the right qualities that will enable you to succeed at affiliate marketing.

It doesn’t cost you anything to get started, and you can have your own free website up and running in no time at all.

You can also get free basic training too to help you understand what the affiliate marketing business is all about, and how you can make it pay for you.

Now is a great time to get involved with this growing business model. It will enable you to take advantage of a worldwide marketplace, and all from your own home. It can be a great way for you to break free from the 9-5 grind!

I have been with Hiving for about 3 years and in the first two years manged to get about £4 every 3 months, there was always a delay in payment and generally had to chase it up through their contact function, after a couple of months. However since February of this year all attempt to contact them have met with silence. No responses on the automated forms, or by email and their Twitter and Facebook accounts haven’t been used in years. I have tried calling the French telephone lines but just get cut off after a message saying that I will be answered shortly. I am no longer completing surveys (I usually get around 4 – 5 low value ones a day), but have kept my account still open in the hope of getting my £20 that is still outstanding. I’m pretty patient but would not advise anyone to sign up with Hiving on this basis, I have even tried contacting the sale/business website but still no reply.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for letting my readers know about your experience with Hiving Surveys.
It must be incredibly frustrating to have earned £20 ( which is by no means easy on any survey site) to then be left wondering if you are ever going to get paid for all your effort.
I hope you get it resolved, please let us know you get on.
