This review will help you decide whether Slicethepie is worth it for you.
I figured that the only way for me to give you an honest opinion of the site was by joining up and finding out what the income potential really is.

I heard that Slicethepie is a genuine opportunity to earn money simply for listening to and rating music. However I thought I should check it out first before delivering my verdict.
It is important to say that I don’t have any experience whatsoever writing reviews or rating music, and I assume you don’t either, so your earning potential on this site should be similar to mine.
What Is Slicethepie?
Slicethepie is a site that is known mostly for paying you (the reviewer) for listening to and then reviewing songs.
The site has to date accepted over 10 million reviews, and has also paid out more than $1 million to its reviewers. There is no doubt therefore that Slicethepie does actually pay.
When I joined up and took a look around I noticed that you can also write reviews of fashion items. There is also a ‘lucky dip’ where you could be reviewing a number of different products, and an audio branding section which is a short piece of music that is used for the branding of products.
You are also given an opportunity to participate in surveys, although you can opt out of this option if you choose.
Writing music reviews however is the most predominant activity on this site.
Slicethepie provides a platform for budding musicians to receive feedback about their audio tracks. Artists upload their music at Soundout.com so their songs can be reviewed at Slicethepie.
From this feedback, artists are able to find opportunities for radio placement, airplay and other related opportunities, depending on the quality of their work.
Who can join Slicethepie?
Slicethepie accepts members from all over the world and anyone above the age of 13 years can become a reviewer on this platform.
The Registration Process At Slicethepie
The registration process is straightforward. It requires your name, email address, gender, and date of birth.
You also need to create a password to secure your account. You will get access to all review categories once you complete the registration process.
You are also asked to give some of your musical preferences. So whether you’re into R&B /Soul, Indie, Rock or Country, just tick the relevant boxes to ensure you get to review more of the songs that you love.
How Slicethepie Works
Reviewing music at Slicethepie is straightforward. It involves listening to music tracks, writing a short review and ticking a few boxes about what you thought about the track.
You must listen to the track for at least 90 seconds before writing your review. The appraisal process focuses on aspects such as vocals, lyrics, instrumentals, production, and rhythm.
Don’t worry about being over technical or trying to sound like a professional. The artists want honest feedback from real listeners of music.
Slicethepie will reveal the name of the track and artist at the end of the review on some of the reviews you do. Others will be anonymous. Apparently each track has to have over 30 separate appraisals to establish the final artist rating.
How much can you earn with Slicethepie?
The amount of earnings per review depends on the quality of your review.
The first few that I did I only got a couple of cents. However I wrote a few more and I started to get paid in the range of between $0.12 and $0.18. Not bad considering I had just got started and each review only took me 4-5 minutes
What I also noticed was that my star rating had gone from one star, to two stars. So the higher your star rating, the higher your earnings. ( star-rating ranges from 1 to 5 ).
So right from the start, before you even begin to improve your reviewing skills, you can realistically earn $1 in a little more than half an hour. That would enable you to cash out (min cash out $10) in no time at all.
In my reviews I just wrote what I honestly thought about the song. I included what I thought about the introduction, the melody, the lyrics and whether the tune was catchy.
I figured that the more reviews I do the better I will get and my star rating (and income potential) will go up.
So the good thing about the earning on Slicethepie is that it is progressive.
Slicethepie also has a referral program that pays you 20% of all your referrals earnings for the first 60 days, and then 10% after the 60 days are up.
So I listened and reviewed the music tracks available and tried some of the other categories. I spent about 30-45 mins on the site each day for about a week.
This was enough to get to the $10 cash out. I requested a withdrawal on a Monday.
The site says it takes about 5 working days before they pay you. However it only took one day for for the money to land in my PayPal account (see proof below).
I intend to continue using Slicethepie because first and foremost I enjoy writing the reviews. However, this site is also a great way to earn extra money by doing something that is genuinely enjoyable.
If you spend about an hour or so a day on Slicethepie writing reviews you can make around $100 a month.
Better Than Taking Surveys
This make money opportunity has a clear advantage over taking online surveys.
That’s because you can quite accurately predict how much you can earn because you know roughly how much you get paid for each review, and you won’t get disqualified like you do with surveys.
Therefore you are getting paid for every minute you spend on Slicethepie
You must however ensure you’re not writing generic reviews. Just make sure you write honestly about what you think of each song.
Getting Paid At Slicethepie
Slicethepie pays via PayPal only. You need to register a valid PayPal address to receive your payments.
The minimum withdrawal limit on this site is $10. Payments are weekly on Tuesdays and Friday, and may take up to 5 days to reflect on your PayPal account.
Slicethepie is a U.K site, however it pays in $ rather than in £
