Thanks for checking out my review of The Drop App.
The Drop App is an online reward app that is designed to reward its members for buying products at one of your preferred brands, and for carrying out certain tasks like playing games and taking surveys.
In my review today I will be finding out what you need to know about the app to help you decide if it is worth checking out yourself.
I will be uncovering what real users of the app are saying about it, and I will also be weighing up the pros and cons to help you make a more informed decision as to whether you should join.
First however let’s find out how The Drop App works.
How The Drop App Works
The Drop App rewards you when you join rewards programs that they recommend or make purchases at stores like Sephora.
You can download it to your Android device or use the Chrome extension and earn instantly after you checkout. You’ll get rewards every time you buy from a partnered brand or shop at the stores you like.
The Drop App is totally free and you can download it in minutes. Residents of the US and Canada can use it but it’s not available elsewhere because it is only focused on stores in these countries.
Founded in Canada in 2016, the company expanded to the U.S in 2018. it’s grown to become one of the most popular apps for earning rewards on Android and iOS.
To make the most of the app, you’ll need to have a debit or credit card. This makes it easier for the retailers and app to track and credit any purchases that you make which qualify you to receive benefits.
When you sign up to the app just select 5 retailers you enjoy, then link your credit and debit cards to enable you to start accumulating points that can be redeemed for rewards. You can immediately start selecting bonus limited time offers from the ones they have available for your chosen stores.
If you’re not comfortable linking your cards then obviously Drop isn’t for you. However, Drop uses bank-level 256 bit encryption security. They also use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to ensure data is secure. This is the kind of technology that large financial companies use to secure their customer’s data.
It’s also worth noting that whilst you’ll automatically get points added to your balance every time you shop online, there’s a grace period for each offer. This means that even if you don’t see your points immediately, they may be added in a few hours. You’ll see information on the grace period in the Description, How it Works or Terms and Conditions of each offer. Some offers may take up to 80 days to pay.
How To Earn Rewards With The Drop App
There are a few ways that you can accumulate redeemable points with the Drop App, these include Offers and Shopping, Playing Games, Surveys and Referring others.
1. Offers and Shopping
The App gives you rebates for specific offers and they also give reward for high-value offers, which can pay $75 or more for activities such as signing up for a credit card. When you complete the requirements of the offer, you’ll get points.
Shoppers can earn $10 to $30 a year just by occasionally making use of offers from a few of their favourite brands. If you regularly check out by using their shopping options, you could earn $100 in a year. The app however limits your earning potential from your shopping by not allowing you to accumulate more than 5000 points ($5) in a week. Certain purchases cannot accumulate points such as repeat purchases, gift cards and business spending.
The offers that you’ve done will show as pending until the app has received approval from the stores that they partner with. Your purchase must be confirmed before points can be added to your balance.
2. Playing Games
You can also earn points by playing games on the app. 1000 points being worth the equivalent of $1. There are specific tasks that you must complete within the game before you can receive your points and you’ll usually receive game points within 14 days.
All games can be found under the Drop Games tab offer. Some of the tasks must be completed within a specific time for you to receive your credit.
The points you get for taking surveys varies depending on the length of surveys. Don’t forget however you won’t always qualify for every survey you take which could mean you will waste some of your time.
While the potential for earning passive income from the Drop App through shopping offers and games is moderate, you can also potentially earn more through their referral program.
If a friend signs up to the Drop App through your referral link, you will both earn $5 (5000 points).Your referral link is a code that’s unique to you and you can share it via social media or any other avenue.
Whenever a friend joins the site, your referral earnings will be added to the rest of your earnings. If you refer two friends a week,
you’ll get $10 every week just from referrals.
How To Redeem Your Rewards
To redeem your rewards on the Drop App, you’ll need to have at least $25 (25,000 points) in your account if you have shopped via the app. The minimum will be higher if you haven’t shopped through the app.
Once you have the minimum for either tier in your account, you can go to the Rewards section. Under the Rewards tab, which is located at the bottom right of your screen, you can see the selection of rewards that you have available.
Choose the reward that you want and click on Redeem. Your reward will be sent to your Drop Wallet, along with instructions on how you can receive your gift card. You can get gift cards for Starbucks, Amazon and many other popular retailers.
